Lot description
65 x 82 cm, on vellum, in English, pen and brown ink, entirely ruled with red ink, large engraved initial "G" decorated with the king's portrait and engraved headpiece with calligraphic letters and the royal coat of arms, black wax seal appending, tax stamps, signed "Dickins" and "Davison" (restored 5 cm tear without loss on the top, some sm. stains mainly marginal, some white stains on the seal but complete).
Under modern passe-partout, wooden frame and glass, 85,5 x 85,5 cm. Nice piece.
Common recovery granted by George III (1738-1820), "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland": "[...] thus contained entry returnable on the morrow of the Ascension of the Lord Norfolk John Church gentleman in his proper person demands against Thomas Binckes gentleman a moiety of the Manor of Foulden otherwise Foulden Latymere with the apparts and a moiety of three messuages two tofts four hundred heres of land [...]".
