19th-c. sheepskin blindst. in the manner of Renaissance binding, blindst. coat of arms on covers, spine with raised bands, red sprinkled edges (sl. rubbed, some scratches on covers).

Badius' 1518 edition of the extensive commentaries on the Psalms and the Song of Songs by the Spanish theologian J. Pérez from Valencia (1408-1490). Contains also the additional "Tractatus contra Iudeos" (Pt. 3) directed against the Spanish Jews. This edition follows Badius' ed. of 1506-1507 and 1509, but it is the first in which the printer included in a single folio volume all the texts he owned by Pérez de Valencia. Title in red and black with typical Badius' Renaissance borders, printed in 2 columns, and edited by Mathurin de Cangey and Badius. There are 2 explicits dated, one "rursus nonis Feb. anni M.D.XVII", and the other "ad idus Feb. MDXVIII". The first date is probably given in the Old Style and the second in the New Style. With his editions, Badius contributed greatly to the European reputation of the Spanish theologian.
