Mod. blue wr. (modern flyleaves). Nicely rubricated copy.

Very rare Latin verses on the story of Ahasverus (Xerxes I) in the biblical Book of Esther and of Darius the Mede in the Book of Daniel. Reinhard Lorich (ca. 1510-1564) from Hadamar (Hessen) was a Lutheran theologian at Marburg University and a prolific Latin poet. Ill. with 5 full-page woodcuts. Title within elaborate woodcut border. Only four copies recorded in public libraries.
