Passepartout with ms. mention "B. Barbiers 1784-1816". Glass and wooden gilt frame.

Pastoral scene in the ruins of an old construction with arches used as storage place (?), a man pushing a barrel placed in a wheelbarrow, pigs in a small covered pigsty, a woman descending into a cellar... The catholic Dutch painter and draughtsman Barbiers (Amst. 1783-1816) had been his father's pupil and was specialised in views of towns and landscapes.
