Very rare monograph on the use of the harmometer, an instrument or monochord for measuring the harmonic relations of sounds, in order to improve and simplify music notation with numerals. The device, a mechanical apparatus that employs pendulums to create a geometric image began to appear in the mid-19th c. and became very popular in the 1890s.
