Lot description
Engraving, contemp. hand-coloured, 11 x 7,5 cm, laid paper (sl. damaged, some creases, traces of old mount still slightly present).
Very rare engraving. Christ tied to a column while being tortured by a group of people around him. The scene is set in a Renaissance-styled palace with shell niche and grotesque panels. With traces of printed text and later ms. text on verso. Probably an illustration of a prayerbook.
