8vo: 255 pp. (last blank missing; clear damp stains, some large, some foxing).

18th-c. marbled sheep, gilt orn. spine with raised bands, red edges.

Extr. rare edition published the same year as the original, also dated 1593 but published in fact in 1594 given that events happening after the entry of Henry IV into Paris (22-04-1594) are related. Four editions dated 1593 contain 255 pp. The "Satyre Menippee", a satirical and political work about the tensions after the conversion of Henry IV to Catholicism, was written by Pierre Leroy, Jacques Gillot, Florent Chrestien, Pierre Pithour, Nicolas Rapin and Jean Passerat.
