Stitched Japanese style, orig. blue gauffered paper wr. (faint discoloration on lower cover), titled paper label printed in black on upper cover. Good copy.
Rare and charming small album printed in black and pink, complete in itself. By Kawanabe Kyosai (1831-1889), living through the Edo period to the Meiji period and considered by many to be the greatest successor of Hokusai as well as the first political caricaturist of Japan. With typical exuberant visions as monsters, deities, animated or humorous scenes, dancing or jumping up figures, anthropomorphic animals, skeletons performing stunts and comical activities...
