Lot description

The Hague, 15 May 1623

1 f. (15 x 25,5 cm), on vellum, in Dutch, with pendant seal (a tear in right lower blank corner, seal in fragment).

Resolution of a case between Jeanne-Marie Doublet as "leenvrouwe der vrije Hoffstat van Emmichoven" (= Emmikhoven, North Brabant, NL) and Aert van Harwynen, Mayor of the Fort van Werkendam (North Brabant, NL). Doublet was the widow of Dominicus de Pottere, former advisor and treasurer to the Prince of Orange. The Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Belgium keep her probable portrait painted by Jan Anthonisz. van Ravesteyn. The decision was also made by the President and Members of the Hoge Raad van Holland, Zeeland en West Friesland, the Supreme Court of the Dutch Republic.
