First edition of one of the earliest treatises on "garden flowers" by the Flemish physician and botanist Dodoens (1517-1585), describing ornamental and fragrant plants and flowers, many of which were recently introduced from Asia Minor, bulbous in particular, transforming European gardens. Ill. with 86 woodcuts in text representing plants, designed by the great Flemish artist Peter Van der Borcht (1535/40-1608).
