Contemp. mottled calf, elaborated gilt floral border and central gilt element on covers (corners bumped and rubbed, some sm. def. on covers), gilt orn. spine with 7 raised bands, green leather title label, marbled edges.

Reprint of the Mourentorf-Bible of 1599, the standard Dutch Bible translation for Roman Catholics for almost 3 centuries. Our copy interleaved with 1) 213 engravings of "Figures de la Bible. The Hague, Pierre de Hondt, 1728" often bound in various Bible-editions and 2) 11 maps by the Dutch geographer Willem Albert Bachiene (1712-1783) from his earliest work, a set of 12 Bible maps (here without the map "De Landen van 't Romeinsche gebied", publ. by Nicolaas Goetzee, Gorinchem, 1748, showing what is now Israel, the Middle East and the Mediterranean.
Totalling: 2 engr. titles ("Biblia Sacra, dat is alle de heylige schriften van het Oude en Nieuwe Testament" and "Figures de la Bible"), 11 engr. fold. maps (a.o. "'t Land Kanaën", "Oude Waereld", "'t Koningryk Israëls", "De beyde koningryken Juda en Israël", "Afbeeldinge der Oostersche Landen", etc.) and 212 full-page or double-page pl. (from "Figures de la Bible").
