Sold as a collection of 143 unnumb. contemp. hand-coloured lithographed plates out of the original edition (600 pl. in a complete set) of this splendid flower book by the Belgian naturalists P.C. Van Geel (1796-1838) and P.-A. Joseph Drapiez (1778-1856), bound together in two volumes, seemingly in no particular order. The pl. are lithogr. by Burggraaff after G. Severeyns. Each plate is followed by a short explanation giving the classification and characteristics of the plant genus and the specificities of the variety.
