16 vol., 4to; front. and 24 pl. (light marg. dampstaining, some spotting or foxing, occ. marg. tears repaired).
Contemp. marbled calf, gilt orn. spines with raised bands and red & green leather labels, red edges (traces of use, some spines sl. faded). Nice collection in uniform bindings.
Most complete edition (1st: 1724-1727), revised by Ch.-H. Le Febvre de Saint-Marc and augmented with notes of N. Tindal, collection of public acts by Rymer and memoirs of the first 20 years of the reign of George II by Dupard. The work of Rapin (1661-1725), French Protestant exiled in England and then in Holland, was continued after his death by David Durand until the death of William II. The last volume contains a general chronology and the tables. Illustrated with a frontispiece, the author's portrait, 24 plates, most fold., figuring maps, portraits & genealogical tables, and with more than 35 headpieces after Charles Eisen. Titles with the same vignette.
