Only edition of a Latin comedy by the rector of the Haarlem Latin School Cornelius Schonaeus (1541-1611), written for the "Landjuweel" (theatre festival) of 1606. The play was staged in Haarlem to raise funds for a new building for poor elderly people. A number of copies were added to the splendid collection of the festival’s plays "Const-thoonende Juweel" (Zwolle 1607), with an additional Dutch "Voor-reden ende tusschen-spraken van ’tvoorgaende Latijns spel". Engraved mark on title (with device "Sic itur ad astra"). Full-page engraved rhetoricians’ device (f. 2).
